What is the difference between the traditional tattooing process and permanent cosmetics?

Both procedures involve tattooing the skin. Traditional tattooing adds pigment to the third layer of the skin; permanent cosmetics the pigment is added to the Dermis or second layer of the skin. The techniques, equipment and pigment types used in both procedures are considerably different.

Is the procedure painful?

Pain tolerances vary by individual. Topical anesthetic creams are used to alleviate and minimize discomfort.

Is the consultation mandatory?

Yes, all new clients must receive a consultation. Often times the procedure/s can be immediately completed following the initial consultation.

How long will the procedure take?

Procedure times vary by individual and the area of application. The average procedure will take anywhere from one to two hours. The follow-up procedure typically will require about one hour to one & a half hours of time.

How long will permanent makeup last?

Permanent makeup may last several years. However, there are a number of variables that will ultimately dictate the longevity of the color. Age, skin type and condition, post care treatment, sun or UV exposure and other external factors will determine the outcome. When the client feels the time is right for a more vibrant look, we recommended the client return for a color enhancement procedure.

Is permanent makeup safe?

Permanent makeup is extremely safe as long as specific guidelines are followed. The state of Colorado through the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) maintain stringent requirements for all licensed aesteticiacns.

Can I continue to wear makeup?

Once the procedural area/s are completely healed, you can resume wearing makeup.

What does recovery time look like?

There will be slight swelling and redness in the skin, which will subside quickly. You may resume normal activities immediately after the procedure. Complete healing takes four to six weeks while the pigmentation matures and reaches its final color.

Do I have a choice of colors?

Depending on the procedure, there’s a wide spectrum of colors that you may choose from especially with eyeliner. Specific procedures, such as brows, areola coloring & scars will be based off of your skin color tone at the consultation.

Do I have a choice in the placement of pigments?

Of course. You will be fully aware during the procedure, instructing the technician where you wish the implants to be located should you feel the need.

How many procedures can you do at a time?

Many clients choose to enhance their eyes and brows at the same time while others will include their lips. We have done as many as four procedures on the same person during a single appointment.
